About us:
Warwickshire County Youth darts was first formed by Lancashire born Jack Cunday. He was born in July 1927 and first launched the Coventry Youth darts team in the mid 1970s along with Coventry under 16 and and under 19 annual Youth opens. Not long after, Jack formed the Warwickshire Youth Darts and the Warwickshire youth open. In 1986 he was also involved in setting up the midlands counties inter county youth league. In 2000 Warwickshire joined the NYDO, playing their first match against Staffordshire and winning 9-6.
Though Warwickshire county youth has changed hands over the years it still holds the same values that it once did under Jack's control. It remains a team of young people who hold respect and integrity both within the sport and to their contemporaries.
Warwickshire county youth darts organisation is a group of young people up to age 21 who have the opportunity to travel all around the country to represent their county in matches against other county teams within the Northern Youth Darts Organisation.
Over the years the WCYDO has produced 4 world champions. Sean Dowling (1988) and Martin Whatmough (1995) took the Youth World Championship while our most recent world champion is Ted Evetts, who was crowned 'unicorn world youth champion' in 2021.
Trina Gulliver has created history with 10 Ladies World Professional Championships. she won the inaugural event (2001) and her most recent being (2016) along with 6 titles at the Winmau World Masters.
