Finally up for the Under 18’s was Owen, Owen played very steady darts with a 16.29 average, hitting big scores and taking his doubles when needed. The match was nip and tuck until the final leg where his opponent took out the 5th leg to win 3-2, Middlesex won this section 3-2 and the overall match was all square going into the final Section under 21’s.
Between the Under 18’s and Under 21’s section our second reserve game seen Warwickshire’s Captain Rosie take to the stage with almost 12 month off the board. Rose took to the stage with lots of confidence and delivered a 3-0 win, 12.92 average and confidence to take into the next match.
Up stepped the under 21’s with a spring in their step and the great team spirit and with the match all square at 4-4 and all to play for. First stepped up was Ben with a steady performance and delivered a 3-1 win and with an average of 20.61 the points started to be placed on the board. Next up was Alfie, cool as a cucumber he stepped on the stage and with a 180 thrown in and a solid 3-0 win and a 18.33 average this made the under 21’s section 2-0 to Warwickshire and 6-4 ahead overall.
Next up was Luke, Luke met a very strong opponent from the PDC development tour. Luke played some lovely darts and hit some great scores but his opponent was too strong and won 3-0, Luke hit a respectable 20.18 average. This pulled one game back for Middlesex to make the section 2-1 to Warwickshire and 6-5 overall. Next up on his debut for Warwickshire was Tommy, Tommy was looking forward to this opportunity and held himself well. Tommy’s opponent hit the right doubles and large scores at the right time. Tommy lost 3-0 with a 15.72 average and the experience to take into the next game. This made the section all square 2-2 and the overall match 6-6, with one to play.
Finally up for Warwickshire was Sam, Sam had been keen and excited to play all day from the moment we arrived until the moment he played. Sam stepped onto the stage knowing that a win would seal the under 21’s section win and also the overall win for Warwickshire. We all reassured Sam there was no pressure on him to win but to go up there and enjoy every second of it. Sam and his opponent played some amazing darts, both hitting ton plus scores, Sam taking out an impressive 102 finish in the first leg and hitting a 180 in the second leg. Sam showed the passion he has for both Warwickshire and darts. The match went down to the final nail biting deciding leg with Sam taking out 56 in the fifth leg to seal the section win and overall 7-6 win for Warwickshire. With a very well battled and deserved MOM average of 23.06. The pride and elation on Sam’s face was a very touching moment for us all to see.
With all 3 sections completed Warwickshire came away with a great and well fought 7-6 win away from home.
To seal the day, the final reserve game was Toby on his debut for Warwickshire. Toby was understandably a little nervous before the match. But he turned his nerves into a confident & positive performance. Toby played darts like someone who has been playing on the stage for years with a respectable 16.91 average and a great 3-1 win. With this impressive win for Warwickshire we hope that this can continue throughout the season.

Krystal played some excellent darts and is slowly putting on the pressure for being picked for stage matches.
It was a shame that Jacob Griffiths was not in attendance due to illness, we hope he gets well soon, and can’t wait for him to bounce back and show everyone what he can do.
With an impressive win for Warwickshire, it’s a great foundation for 2023 going into the final half of the season. Massive well done to everyone, we couldn’t be prouder of you all.
A massive thank you for all the supporters, with around 45 people in attendance for the away day, and filling the venue and showing Clwyd how well Warwickshire follow their team home and away. Thank you to our hosts Clwyd for welcoming us and putting on a great day, your guys & girls were great
We look forward to our next game of the season, where we will be taking a short trip up the M6 to Staffordshire on Sunday 19th February 2023
